The Burn Care Unit Project
Our Plans & Goal for Burn Care Unit
To provide effective care for severely burned patients and to reduce their pain and suffering during hospitalization.
To achieve faster wound care healing and management with techniques, such as skin grafting and other reconstructive surgeries.
The shortening of the length of stay of burn patients in hospital is beneficial for the reintegration with their families.
What have we done?
- Our efforts have opened the first burn care unit in the Georgetown Public Hospital on November 11, 2002.
- The mortality rate has decreased by over 70% since the opening of the Burn Care Unit.
- Continuing to work on expanding capacity by providing medical equipment needed such as monitors, ventilators, beds, and other necessary items for upgrading as needed
